A Guide To Making Cheap Mother's Day Flowers Look Expensive

With all the financial challenges of life today, it's no wonder that people are looking for ways to make their cheap flower delivery look expensive. This is especially the case when it comes to sending flowers for Mother's Day.  You want your dear mother to feel special but, at the same time, you do not want to break the bank! The good news is that there are ways in which you can spruce up a seemingly ordinary flower arrangement and transform it into something even more elegant!

What you will need:
·         Your choice of Mother's Day flowers
·         Some foliage of your choice (foliage that will compliment your flowers)
·         Colourful ribbon
·         Colourful tissue paper
·         Any accessories you would like to use to personalize your bouquet

 Instructions:
·         The first step is probably the most important of all. You need to carefully select the kind of flowers you want to send. Do some research and find out which flowers are in season. They are bound to be the cheaper option. You should also select flowers that are still half closed so that you know that they will last longer. Choose some larger blooms as your focal flowers, add some slightly smaller mass flowers and then add filler flowers here and there.
·         After choosing your flowers, you will then need to select the type or types of greenery that you want to include. Lush green leaves can really make your bouquet look full and complete but be careful not to overcrowd your flowers with too much foliage. You want the greenery to compliment the flowers and not cover them up. Choose your foliage based on the type of flowers you include and make sure that the foliage not only adds fullness but texture as well.
·         Now is a great time to look at adding accessories or ornaments like little beetles or butterflies. Your florist could have some in stock or you could pick up something from your local crafts shop. This is not an absolute must but it will give your bouquet that little something special and the recipient will have something to keep forever even once the flowers perish.
·         Instead of using a vase, which can be rather pricey, you can make your bouquet look just as fancy without that additional expense. Besides, most of us have at least one or two vases at home anyway.  To decorate and cover the stems of your flowers, simply wrap them in some colourful tissue paper.  Make sure that you choose the right colour tissue paper to compliment the flowers in the bouquet.
·         Finally, it's time for the finishing touch. Place a ribbon around the stems in order to hold them together and keep the paper in place. If you really want to play it safe, you can secure the stems together with an elastic band before wrapping them in the tissue paper.
While it might be easy and convenient to order flowers online or from your local florist around the corner, arranging them yourself can help you save money while adding that personal touch all at the same time. You can gather even more ideas by having a quick look around at pictures of flower arrangements online. Take note of colour combinations and you will soon see which ones work well together and which ones do not. Remember to take your time and don't try to rush it. Some flowers are fairly delicate and need to be handled with care.
